To Watch the Youth of our Nation's War Unfold.
To Shed a Tear.
To Rejoice in Having Fought & Survived.
to Honor Those Who Died.
Of Memories We Hide.
Come see the uniform
that Grandpa wore in WWII.
Come and see a tank he talked about,
remember the stories he told you?
Come and see a Korean-era troop transport
truck
that might have carried Uncle Joe in
Korea,
Pay close attention as he talks of “The Forgotten War.”
You are getting the idea.
Come and learn about what it was like
to come Home from Vietnam.
Hear the taunts and cries they heard
and hug them
because the pain has lasted too long.
Come and listen to the stories of Desert
Storm
and their guns jamming from the sand.
The challenges they faced and conquered
have saved lives today in
this hot barren land.
Come and marvel at the technology
that’s used to fight today
in the Iraq and Afganistan.
And when you see that Desert Camo,
Just say “Sir or “Ma’m”
Come and study the maps with us,
And put up with long visits with a friend.
For a moment, For just a brief while,
Let us be Warriors again.
The time we served our Country
Forever changed us into who we are.
And without us together telling our tales,
the young may never know
What the war will look like to them
When it’s been 30 or 40 years ago
or so.
Lend an ear, lend a shoulder
Be supportive to all
This is why we come together,
Each one of us.
Welcome to ALL!
